Due to the new design the R4L has fewer parts, is lighter. Other features include a user adjustable friction control for the snare tension control and the swivel lever. The mounting track has been modified to allow it to be fitted to shells of various thickness without need for special fasteners - handy for manufacturers who make shells of different or thicker dimensions.
