Evans EC2 Drum Heads feature 2 plies with an Edge Control ring that isolates and dampens higher overtones, enhances low-end and attack, and enables broader tuning and dynamic ranges. Unlike conventionally damped heads, the EC2 will not choke at higher tuning ranges, or loose its full-bodied presence when tuned low. Developed in partnership with drummer/inventor Bob Gatzen, the EC2 features an Edge Control ring mounted underneath two plies of 7mil film. By controlling edge vibration, instead of eliminating it, the ring isolates and dampens higher overtones, enhancing low-end and attack, and enabling a broader tuning range.
